William Strater committed suicide at his home, 488 Spring Mill Street, Monday night by shooting himself through the head.

William Strater was born in Washington Twp., Richland County, 37 years ago.  He had been a resident of this city for over 21 years and for many years he was proprietor of the butcher shop on West Fourth Street near Walnut.  Some time ago he sold his interest in his business and the firm became Strater & Kass.  Last February he retired from the firm.
